didn't see any more tanks rolling around although to be fair my gym isn't
that from from my house (maybe 2k walk).

to give some context as to why i sent this in: there are a few APC's station around Beirut and across the country (some more in certain places than others obviously). as long as i've been here this time it's usually a dude sitting up there playing on his phone. also seeing truck convoys in beirut, especially on the corniche, is nothing new. tanks however do NOT roll around the corniche with any frequency. my friend told me they saw the 6 tanks rolling down the corniche (they work a block over from me but have a better view from their work). they could also hear them from where they sat. they also said that others had commented on seeing tanks across town although they didn't give me estimates on that.

i have not seen anything in the local news that concretely speaks to the tanks moving around town and whether they're being set up in town (like back in winter 2006) or if they're moving south or what. again this being lebanon i could point to any number of reasons why tanks might be moving south but i'm not going to guess. i'll keep my eyes and ears open for the next few days on the streets and try and snap some pics if i can.

How well can the source distinguish between apcs and other armored vehicles and tanks? Just wondering how to interpret the word "tank"

Nick:

So 6 tanks just rolled down the street from my house (I live by the Corniche). My friend said she's seen and heard of more tanks rolling around town today. Truck convoys are normal but I haven't seen tanks rolling around town since I've been here. Nothing concrete in the news to suggest why these tanks are rolling around but this being Lebanon I could point to half a dozen reasons if I had to guess.
