Fete De La Musique 2012: Celebrating Music

Photo blog by Marwan Bu Haidar

Far from the political turmoil that has plagued the city for the past few months, “Fete De La Musique” provided some time out for people in the capital. Local and international bands took to the stage performing various genres of music ranging from pop, reggae and hip-hop to flamenco, and blues. On June 21st of every year, like clockwork, the stages are set and the fans await the bands as they celebrate “Fete De La Musique.”

Al-Akhbar’s photographer Marwan Bu Haidar roamed the Downtown area covering the event, moving from stage to stage between the sea of people. These pictures give you a sense of the atmosphere that night.
