Updated at 4:58 pm (GMT +2): Terrorists detonated a car bomb in al-Zahra’a neighborhood in Homs city on Wednesday, injuring 38 civilians, 3 of them in critical condition, Syria's National News Agency (SANA) reported.

A source at the province told SANA’s correspondent that terrorists detonated a Mazda car rigged with explosives injuring 38 people, 3 of whom, including a child, are currently in a critical condition.

The terrorist attack also caused significant material damage to private properties and homes.

On October 1, a double suicide bombing targeted a school in the neighborhood of Akramah, also in Homs.

The incident resulted in the death of 32 and injury of 115 civilians, most of them children.

Homs was once dubbed "the capital of the revolution" against Syrian President Bashar al-Assad. The Syrian army is in control of most of the city, except the battered district of Waar.
